Celebrate Earth Day with Eggs

Since the 1960s, egg farming in Ontario has made incredible strides in reducing its environmental footprint. In fact, over the last 50 years, farmers have decreased their environmental footprint by 50%. This is thanks to advancements in technology and farming practices that prioritize sustainability and environmental responsibility.

For example, modern egg farms are equipped with state-of-the-art facilities that monitor and control temperature, lighting, and ventilation, reducing energy consumption by 41%. Additionally, egg farmers in Ontario use 69% less water than they did in the past, and greenhouse gas emissions have been reduced by 72%. In addition to these advancements, many egg farmers have also started using solar panels to power their farms.

At Egg Farmers of Ontario, we are proud to be part of an industry that is committed to sustainable farming practices. By supporting local egg farmers, you are not only choosing high-quality, nutritious eggs but also supporting the environment and local communities.
